I'm proud of all of you who responded to this question.

We have been fighting problems people have with campground memberships for over 10 years.

This thread summarizes the issue very well:

1. After you add up the initiation fee, annual dues, travel expenses - are you 'really' saving money?

2. How do you terminate the membership if/when you no longer wish to be obligated to pay annual dues/maintenance fees.

3. Campground memberships are NOT investments. There are more people trying to sell them than there are people wanting to buy them.

4. If you do decide to buy - buy from an individual or a reseller - not from the campground or marketing company. IMPORTANT: Verify the answer to #2 above.

Note:
5. NEVER - NEVER - Pay anyone money "up-front" to sell a campgound membership (or timeshare) that you have purchased. Any honest reseller will take their fee for the sale out of the proceeds of the sale. We have hundreds of complaints from many states about this kind of scam.
